SPRING CLEANING THE COLLECTION: PROJECTS AND POLICIES FOR WEEDING AND GIFTS

NOTSL will hold its Spring Meeting on Friday, June 2, 2017, at Cuyahoga County Public Library’s Parma-Snow Branch Auditorium, 2121 Snow Road, Parma, Ohio.

Set aside time to learn about weeding and gifts management with a variety of entertaining speakers. Mary Kelly and Holly Hibner from Awful Library Books will be our featured speakers. These public librarians from Michigan share their entertaining and useful insights into collection metrics, weeding processes and collection management. Deb Klembara, Manager of the Northeast Ohio Cooperative Regional Library Depository will bring us up to date on the OhioLINK Library Depository system. Three final brief presentations will focus on strategies for gifts management (including how to decline unwanted items) for both general and special collections.
